Before we begin your journey, I am sure you’d like to know a little bit about me. My name is Trevor Simon. I am the proud founder of Pure Bliss Counseling, PLLC. I am a wife and mom of a beautifully blended family of 5 and a seasoned co-parent. I am a former educator and school counselor with over a decade of experience working with students ranging from Pre-K through 12th grade. My family would describe me as a natural born helper. I’ve always said that the counseling profession found me and it has been my passion for as long as I can remember. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with family and friends, catching up on my favorite reality tv shows and indulging in a day of pampering.

I specialize in the areas of grief, stress and anxiety, weight management/binge eating disorders, and pre-marital/marital counseling. I am a registered pre-martial counseling provider with Two Together in Texas and certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator.

I do not believe that there is a standard “cookie cutter” therapeutic intervention as each client’s challenges present differently. I pull from various treatment approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy. With my professional training and life experiences, I am prepared to empower you with the tools needed to bring about positive change, personal growth, healing and self-discovery. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that is unbiased, honest and supportive. I work with clients ages 16 and up, families couples.

The twists and turns of life can be overwhelming to navigate, but you no longer have to figure it all out alone. Allow me to walk alongside you on this journey to ultimate wellness. If you have been looking for a sign, here it is. Let's get to work.

Aisha Smith-Shoemo, LPC Associate

Hey there!

My name is Aisha Smith-Shoemo and welcome to Pure Bliss Counseling, PLLC.  I am dedicated to your mental health, stability, growth, and maintenance.  Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or are just feeling overwhelmed, I am here to listen. Not only will I provide an impartial ear in a safe and clinical setting, but also provide the therapeutic feedback you need to assist you in obtaining the results you desire.

So, let’s discuss me. I am a wife, mother of three boys, and parental caretaker. I am a Military Veteran, Military Spouse, and Military Brat. I have lived in various parts of the United States and overseas countries. My family and friends are as diverse as my travels and I pride myself in being open, welcoming and accepting of all cultures or ways of life. I moved to the Greater Houston Area in December of 2021.

I received my Master’s in Counseling in May of 2013.  My previous experiences include but are not limited to: Pre-K through 6th grade students, senior citizens, college students, and military spouses.  Currently, I volunteer to assist women who have suffered late term infant death or loss of children shortly after birth in the Houston area.

I believe that therapy should be client focused or lead and adapted to the individual. There is no one size fits all in therapy. My goal is to help you achieve yours. I use Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution Focused therapy, and Emotional focused therapy approaches to enable self-awareness and empowerment to allow you to take control of your own life direction by making sound choices you can be proud of.

You are not alone. I am here, waiting to listen to and accompany you! I specialize with working with children ages 8 and up, women and families. My door is open to you.  I am ready to get to work when you are!
